Personal reader · personal podcast
Read the web clean. Listen when you want.
Podability is your private readable archive and podcast player in one. Paste a URL → scrape bare markdown, tag it, read later — and optionally turn the same article into listen-later audio with a sticky player, queue, and RSS feed.
Readable archive
Paste a URL. GitHub Actions + Grok scrapes main content to clean markdown — no chrome, just the piece.
Tags & unread
Coarse catalog tags and excerpts on scrape. Filter by tag; Unread keeps the library focused by default.
Listen later
Generate audio from any article. Podcast tab tracks not started / in progress / finished with a global player and queue.
Private by invite
First Google sign-in claims ownership. Invite owners and members; public feed is opt-in for Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
Run your own
This instance is personal
Podability is not a public social reader. It is your library and your podcast stack: content lives in a GitHub repo, scrapes and TTS run in Actions, and the app syncs index.json without redeploying for every article.
- 1. Deploy with auth + Postgres, linked to your content GitHub repo and workflow secrets (Grok, optional Azure for audio).
- 2. Sign in with Google — first login becomes owner; invite members from Settings.
- 3. Paste URLs in the library (audio on by default). Actions scrapes, tags, summarizes, and can synthesize podcast audio.
- 4. Read in the library or play from Podcast — progress and read state stay in sync. Optionally publish the RSS feed for Spotify / Apple Podcasts.
